*We are your local mushroom farm and now have an online shop where you can find our Tasting Box special.  This is a box of gourmet mushrooms including Shiitake, Pearl Oyster, Lions Mane and will feature one or more of our limited exotic varieties.  The Box will include access to a special live online event that we will host from the farm and will include cooking demonstrations, incredible fun and much more.

Nestled in the Oak Hills of La Rue County, our family farm uses simple ingredients and hard work to grow the highest quality mushrooms.

Heather and Andrew Barnes are not your typical farmers.  Having served 12 years as a professional firefighter, including a deployment to Hurricane Katrina, Heather is seasoned at battling the elements.  Andrew served his country on two Middle Eastern deployments as a special boats operator in the Navy’s Special Forces. They met in the summer of 2003 when Andrew and his SWCC boat crew performed an exhibition at Thunder Over Louisville.  After completing college and running their own business, they decided they wanted to start a family and relocated to the rolling hills of central Kentucky. Both are honored and proud to serve once again by producing healthy, delicious, ethically produced and locally grown gourmet mushrooms for our community.

Prayer Mountain Mushrooms is a USDA GAP certified mushroom farm in the state of Kentucky, eligible for rebates from Kentucky Proud.

Tasting Box Live Event!

Order your Tasting Box before 3 April 2020 and attend our Live Online Tasting Box Event on Thursday, 9 April 2020. The Tasting Box contains a medley of delicious fresh mushrooms including Pearl Oyster, Shiitake, Lions Mane and a seasonal offering such as Chestnut mushrooms, King Oyster or Golden Oyster. The Tasting Box includes access to a live video event from the farm and will feature all-ages fun, cooking demonstrations, recipes, shenanigans, and much more!
